NOTE: This page covers our philosophy towards the pricing of digital marketing services and a simple price tag for our time. There's no price list or special offers here. Reading this will give you an idea about whether we're a good match for you. After that, we'll do an initial consultation free of charge.
The Problem...
Choosing a partner for online marketing, web design or SEO can be difficult, and, likely, you're already experiencing this reality. Finding prices that range from $5 for a Fiverr gig to yearly minimum contracts in the tens, or even hundreds of thousands.
Another problem is that there's a value disconnect between the online promise and the real-world result. A supplier can make claims and promises, and then there's the delivered quality. A company could have created a flashy sales page that presents a different capability than the representative with whom you're negotiating. The salesperson could simply be - a great salesperson!
Case studies shown to you could be a small sample from a large client base, they won't showcase the train wrecks! Testimonials can get paid for, and verbal promises can get undermined in the small print.
Web design is less risky. You can hold back full payment while shoddy work gets fixed. Corrupt SEO practices can destroy your companies online presence.
Another issue is that for marketing to get conducted effectively, the supplier you choose needs to have some understanding of your company, and industry. Blog posts, marketing material and even social media comments can get written by someone who doesn't know the topic well. This representation can harm your companies image.
Other problems can get experienced when looking for an online partner, but hopefully, the point has been made.
Typical Industry Pricing Models
With outsourced contract work, there's a tendency for companies to offer their services in three different ways:
Tactic 1: The VERY Affordable Price
The 'bargain' price that gets presented as a special offer. The price will be at the bottom end of the range, and an explanation will try to justify why it's so cheap. If you've been quoted £4000/$5000 for a website designed to your desired specification, and someone offers to do it for £1000/$1250, you might get tempted, IF you believe the justification.
Tactic 2: The Value Package
A 'value package' pitch is where you get a list of services and products that get provided for a fixed price. For example, for £200/$250, you can find a package where three blog posts get written, which are posted ten places online, and then ten backlinks and 20 blog comments. This tidy packaging appeals to our need for value for money and justifies the ticket price.
Tactic 3: The High End Guru/Agency
A high end guru/agency will have super slick sales landing pages, downloadable guides and PDFs and plenty of testimonials. Try to find a specific price and set of deliverables and you'll struggle. You'll only find 'Enquire Now' type buttons, when you move deeper into their sales funnel. There'll be a slick process, so that when you eventually get a price tag, you don't feint...
As you delve deeper into the murky world of online marketing, watch your blood pressure and stress levels...
Are we saying that all of our competition will do bad work, or overcharge you?
Of course not, there are plenty of good options, among the hundreds of thousands of our competitors out there 🙂
The Solution...
We've structured a solution that removes much of the noise and sales tactics that are employed. We break it down for you, and you'll understand how much we charge, and what we'll do for it in the simplest terms.
'What have you done for me today?'
Are you aware of the phrase? Another similar one is: 'What have you done for me lately?'
- Who cares about case studies of clients from years ago who are in different industries?
- Are you thrilled about signing a contract for 12 months with no recent results?
- Do you want to hear that it can take six months to achieve any results?
While impressive results can take 6-12 months (depending on how many hours per month get invested). You don't want to wait this long before you realise that you've picked the wrong partner, or to get out of a contract.
We operate a simple model of hourly payment for quality work...

OK to explain further, with a few exceptions, Out of the Box Innovations works with clients in the energy industry. We already understand the competitive landscape and the online options available to you.
Depending on your current online presence, and your sub-niche, demonstrable results (ROI) could be easy to achieve. Or next to impossible.
For example:
- If you're in a small sector of a market such as supplying specialist equipment or services, we might find that you're already on page two of Google. Some simple onsite SEO work might get you to page one, and require only a few hours of labour.
- If you're entering the 'oil and gas news' or 'solar industry news' space, then you'll be up against every news agency in the world, as well as the industry leaders. We might need to discuss an online promotional pivot or refinement. Some companies will lock you into a six-month contract only to find that space is too competitive.
With nearly every project, there are some easy wins to be had, and some traps to avoid. This finding is especially the case in the energy industry, both online and offline. We'll be happy to chat about the potential wins for your business, and the strategies to avoid, free of charge.
Then, our pricing is super simple. Hire us for a single day, a week, month or year.
At the end of which, we can answer the most critical question:
'What have you done for me lately?'
So, without further ado, and to save you scrolling back up the page, drop us an email, and we'll be happy to discuss your objectives.
